Why a washer may shake
An uneven load, poor levelling, unsuitable flooring, incorrect installation, worn suspension, loose counterweight, drum problem or bearing wear can cause excessive movement.
What you can observe
- Whether it happens with every load or only bulky items.
- Whether the machine rocks when gently checked while switched off.
- Whether it was recently installed or moved.
- Whether there is banging, scraping or visible drum movement.
When to stop using it
Stop the machine if it moves across the floor, strikes cabinetry, makes severe mechanical noise or the drum appears out of position.
