Power fault or start fault?
If there are no lights or sounds, the issue may involve the outlet, plug, lead, internal power supply, wiring or control board. If the display works but the cycle will not begin, the door lock, start control, water supply or another safety condition may be involved.
Safe preliminary checks
- Check whether other appliances work from the outlet.
- Confirm the door or lid is fully closed without forcing it.
- Check that delay start or child lock is not active.
- Record lights, sounds and error codes.
When to stop
Unplug the machine and seek professional advice if it trips a safety switch, smells burnt, shows heat damage or has been exposed to water. Electrical testing and internal repairs should be completed by a suitably qualified person.
