Why washing machine door seals become mouldy
Moisture, detergent residue, lint and poor airflow can collect inside the folds of a front-loader rubber door seal, also called a door gasket or door boot. Over time, this can cause black mould, persistent odours and staining.
When should a door seal be replaced?
Replacement may be recommended when the seal is torn, stretched, leaking, heavily deteriorated or remains permanently contaminated after appropriate cleaning. We inspect the seal and surrounding area before recommending a new part.
